Red-necked Wallabies in Great Britain
Submit a SightingTracking the distribution and ecology of red-necked wallabies in Great Britain.

About this project
Red-necked wallabies are native to south-east Australia, including Tasmania. They are popular and charismatic animals, often kept in zoological collections, and some small populations have been recorded in the UK since the mid-1900s.
In 2020, Drs Holly English and Anthony Caravaggi published the first paper exploring wallabies in the UK since the Peak District population disappeared. This project continues that work, combining field observations, citizen science submissions, and historical data to understand population trends.
